Jaak E. Rannik
Chief Executive Officer

Jaak is a seasoned business leader with more than 30 years of experience in leading global organizations.

During his tenure as president and CEO of Grupo B&R, a diversified ocean and airfreight transportation, logistics, intermodal services and marine services group, he successfully managed B&R’s transition from a stand-alone operation into a global organization. As president of Caucedo Development Corp. and director of Caucedo Investments, he promoted, developed and attracted $300 million in financing for the successful Caucedo container port.

Jaak is a past president of the Association of American Chambers of Commerce in Latin America and past president of the American Chamber of Commerce of the Dominican Republic. Jaak is a retired officer in the United States Coast Guard Reserve and holds a BBA degree at the University of Miami.

Rolland W. Trayte
President and Chief Operating Officer

Rolland is an experienced veteran in the security and safety markets. Prior to joining FutureSentry, he was vice president of government relations for Amber Alert.com and vice president of strategic development for Westec Interactive Security.

For more than 25 years, Rolland served as director of loss prevention, retail, for Conoco Phillips, where he was responsible for 15,000 locations including 4,000 company-operated Circle K’s and over 10,000 affiliates.

Rolland began his career in law enforcement, and completed post-graduate studies as a police officer at the University of Louisville’s National Crime prevention Institute and the Ohio Peace Officer’s Training Academy.

Stephen Whitten
Founder & Chief Technology Officer

Steve is a recognized thought leader in the development of innovative technologies. He developed FutureSentry’s automated detection solution in 2007 and has worked diligently to further refine the solution to best deter criminal activity.

Prior to FutureSentry, he worked for many years leading multiple engineering departments focused on electronic defense countermeasures and advanced detection systems. During this time, he architected breakthrough products to increase security and safety.

He is a former law enforcement officer at the local, state and federal levels and also served in the United States Army. He is an alumnus of North Georgia Military College and State University, Southeast Florida Institute for Criminal Justice and the University of Miami.

Robert A. Spencer
Vice President, Manufacturing & Product Development

Bob is responsible for product development and manufacturing including R&D, operations, production and worldwide distribution. He has more than 30 years of manufacturing and technical management experience.

During his tenure with DuPont, he implemented an $18-million process upgrade that saved $16 million annually and reduced energy consumption by 23 percent. While at Sterling Diagnostic Imaging/AGFA Corp., he directed technical support for a 900-person manufacturing facility where he led the development of 10 new products and obtained 12 new patents.

Bob holds a BS degree in chemical engineering from Virginia Tech University.

David Warren
Structural Engineer

David spearheads engineering functions at the FutureSentry Product Development Center and also directs the quality assurance and quality control efforts for the manufacturing division.

As experienced operations professional and supply chain expert, David employs process improvements, systems integration and team development to effectively analyze issues and implement out-of-the box solutions. He previously managed operations for CMC Howell Metal, Johns Manville, Brunswick Corp. and Federal-Mogul Corp.

David is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis and holds a BS degree in Aeronautical Engineering. He served as a Navy pilot and later became a Naval flight instructor for fixed and rotary wing aircraft.
